Guidelines for Creative Content

Restricted industries, products and topics

  • Medical research
  • Medical products
    • Medicines for losing weight
    • Procedures for losing weight
    • Equipment for medical diagnosis
    • Plastic Surgery
    • Cosmetic procedures
    • Supplements are allowed
  • Media companies
    • Competitors of DPG
  • Easy money 
    • Courses for stock and crypto market
    • Drop shipment courses
    • Fraudulent messages
    • Scam-like messages
    • Cryptocurrencies are allowed
  • Religious content
    • Propaganda for religion

    • All forms of religion

    • Hate speech

  • Weapons
  • Tobacco / Alcohol /  Drugs
    • E-smokers / vapers
    • Micro-dosing

    • Snus

    • Forbidden goods

    • Strong liquor is allowed

  • Pornographic (18+ content)

    • Explicit nudity

    • Viagra

    • Morning after pill

Rules for creative content

  • Advertiser logo should always be visible
  • Allowed languages:
    • Dutch
    • English
    • French - for Belgian advertisers only
  • Look-and-feel
    • The ad should be clearly distinguishable from editorial content
    • Don't use logos of DPG owned brands
    • Don't use the same color or fonts as DPG owned brands
  • Call-to-action button texts which are not allowed:
    • "Lees meer" (NL), "Read More" (EN)

    • "Meer lezen"

    • "Lezen"

    • Don't use exclamation marks

  • Clickbait
    • Don't use sensationalist, misleading, withholding, or deceptive content to get more clicks

  • Don't use flashing and disturbing visual effects

  • False claims are not allowed, like:

    • "Speciaal voor jou" (NL), "special offer for you" (EN)

    • "Voor jou als honderdste bezoeker" (NL), "For you as millionth visitor..." (EN)

  • Don't use emoticons

  • Don't show phone numbers or email addresses

  • Don't use celebrities without their knowledge / permission

  • Don't use foul language


Technical functionalities

  • Ads are muted, sound is user-initiated
  • For clickable areas the cursor should change into a hand
  • Landing page is similar to the advertiser 
  • Click-out should open the landing page in a new window or tab
