Smart Studio

What it is: 

Smart Studio is a creative workspace built into Ad Studio and powered by generative AI to help you create, adapt, and improve Seamless Ads. Currently, Smart Studio supports text-based ad suggestions for headlines, body text, and button text. The feature is actively being developed and will soon expand, starting with image variations and crop-to-expand functionality in late 2025. These additions will make it even easier to refresh and test visuals without the need for manual design work.

How it works and setup: 

Smart Studio – Ad Text Suggestions uses generative AI to automatically generate ad variants based on your input.

Once you complete the inputs for body text, button text, and optionally the headline, Smart Studio will automatically generate two AI-based variants in the Seamless Ad Creation screen. You can optionally add a third AI variant manually. You can edit, regenerate, or reject any or all AI variants until you’re happy with the result. Each AI variant can also be edited individually. Upon saving, a separate ad is created for both the original and each selected AI variant.

For best results, we recommend adding extra context to improve the suggestions — such as the ad’s goal or a short description of your product or service. You can do this in the Smart Studio box on the right-hand side.

Smart Studio suggestions are based on best practices such as clarity, action orientation, and tone consistency — ensuring your ads are not only faster to create but also more likely to perform.

Behavior notes

Disclaimer on AI use for ad creation
AI suggestions can occasionally contain mistakes, so always double-check your ad copy before saving. Any copy or context entered in the Smart Studio suggestion box is only used to improve the current ad suggestions for your campaign. This input will never be used elsewhere.

Reporting
After saving, a suffix is automatically added to the name of each AI-generated ad, making it easy to compare performance in reports. Note: there is currently no separate dimension to isolate AI suggestions, manual filtering on the suffix is required.

Full control
Ad Manager will never auto-create AI variants without notice or automatically mix ad assets. You are always in full control of your final ad copy.

Auto-generated suggestions
By default, Smart Studio automatically creates two AI variants each time you create a new Seamless Ad. If you prefer to generate suggestions manually, simply disable the toggle in the Smart Studio box.

Seamless Ads compatibility
Smart Studio Text Suggestions are currently compatible with all Seamless Image and Seamless Video sizes, and with the primary text of Seamless Carousel ads (not yet with individual slide copy). Seamless Listing is not yet supported.

Advanced adjustments to AI variants
By default, AI variants inherit the same image, landing page URL, and tracking pixel as the original. These cannot be adjusted during creation. To make changes to these fields, first save your ads, then edit each AI variant from the ad overview page.

Final note

The quality of AI-generated output depends heavily on the input you provide. Smart Studio helps you easily generate multiple ad variants to boost performance and reduce ad fatigue. But the foundation still matters: start with strong, distinctive, attention-grabbing ads and use AI to scale, adapt, and refine.

FAQs 

“Can I edit the AI-generated copy?”
Absolutely. You’re always in control. You can edit, tweak, or completely rewrite any suggestion, or ask Smart Studio to regenerate new ones.

“Are the suggestions based on best practices?”
Yes. Smart Studio is trained on creative best practices such as clear language, actionable phrasing, and strong calls to action, helping to improve ad effectiveness.

“What type of ads can I use Smart Studio with?”
Smart Studio Text Suggestions are currently compatible with all Seamless Image and Seamless Video sizes, and with the primary text of Seamless Carousel ads (not yet with individual slide copy). Seamless Listing is not yet supported.

“Is it available in multiple languages?”
Yes. Smart Text Suggestions support both Dutch, English and French, depending on the language of your input ad. 

“Can I use Smart Studio for A/B testing?”
Yes. You can use Smart Studio to quickly generate multiple versions of your ad copy and set them up as variants in your ad group to test which performs best.

“When will Smart Image Variants be available?”
Smart Image Variants are planned for Q4 2025. This feature will automatically generate visual variations from a single uploaded image — perfect for scaling or refreshing creative without manual design work.
