CRM Audiences

To create a CRM audience in Datalab, you can follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Audience Section: Go to the ‘audiences’ menu button in the top right corner of the Datalab application. On the audience page, click on the purple button labeled ‘create audience’ and select ‘Create CRM audience’.

  2. Name Your Audience: Provide a name for your audience. It's helpful to use a clear naming convention to easily find your audience later. The audience must also be added to a seat and a group.

  3. Prepare Your CSV File: Ensure your CRM file is structured correctly for upload:

    • The file must be a CSV format and cannot exceed 500 MB.

    • It must contain at least one valid match key. Possible match keys include:

      • email

      • phone_number

      • zip

      • street_name, street_number, street_number_extension

      • bag_id (NL only)

      • mobile_identifier

    • Use a comma (,) as the delimiter.

    • Ensure all fields are either in "plain text" or "SHA256" format. If using SHA256, suffix your column headers with _hashed (e.g., email_hashed).

    • All records must have an equal number of fields corresponding to the number of header fields.

  4. Upload the CSV File: Select and upload your CSV file. The system will automatically hash plain text emails. After uploading, you will see an analysis of the document to check if the structure is correct and if the corresponding match keys are found.

  5. Processing Time: Uploading a CRM audience can take up to 2 hours for all users to be matched to DPG data and become available. During this time, the status will be set to ‘Calculating insights’.

  6. Activate and Share the Audience: Once processed, you can activate the audience for a media campaign or share it with Ad Manager. This activation can take up to 12 hours.
